Why Do I Need A Filter?

We're glad you asked!

Protection Filter

Essential for protecting the front lens element during shooting situations. The clear glass does not affect your image in any way and it helps eliminate the possibility of scratches, cracks and dust on your lens.

Circular Polarizing Filter

A ‘CPL’ helps with color saturation and reducing reflections. Polarizers are great for shooting landscape images as they darken skies, make colors pop and can help eliminate glare from water or other surfaces.

Neutral Density Filter

‘ND’ filters are dark colored glass that reduce the amount of light that enters your lens without affecting the color of the resulting image. By reducing light intensity, this filter allows you to shoot with slower shutter speeds without overexposing your image. ND filters are rated in stops of light or are also offered in variable settings. For example, you can use a 2 stop ND filter to block a small amount of light, or a 10 stop filter to block a significant amount of light.

Night Sky Filter

These specialty filters make the backdrop of space appear more black, making each individual star stand out more, significantly increasing starlight definition.

Solar Filter

These specialty filters are used to safely observe and photograph the sun.
