All customers should review the complete terms on this page to fully educate themselves on our return process, repairs and warranty information, terms of sale, approved payment methods and shipping policies and procedures.

Below is pertinent information that you should make note of:

  • Due to the high rate of fraud in our industry, ALL ORDERS ARE SHIPPED SIGNATURE REQUIRED
  • If you are purchasing a used item in ‘Poor or Inoperable’ condition, this item is being sold as-is. It is eligible for our return process, but these items are not eligible for the UsedPhotoPro 180 day warranty.
  • You will receive email confirmation for your order. Please review these confirmations to ensure that your order information is accurate
  • Your order will not process until it has been cleared by our third party fraud assessment service. During this process they may send you an email to confirm your identity. Please be sure to respond to any such communications or your order will be canceled.
  • All orders are subject to approval by our processing department. We will notify you in a reasonable amount of time if your order may be delayed. If we have any questions regarding your order, someone from our customer service team will reach out to you as soon as possible to confirm any final details.
  • All orders are placed with us are considered an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to reject such offer at any time during the approval process. All offers to purchase are subject to merchandise availability at the time of acceptance. A confirmation of your order means only that we have received the offer to purchase. If your offer to purchase is rejected for any reason, you will be notified on a timely basis with instructions and an opportunity to respond.
  • Items that were purchased in NEW CONDITION can only be returned be in the same NEW condition that they were received and must include all items (including box and accessories) that they shipped with in order to be eligible for a full refund. If an item is returned that was used or is deemed to no longer be in new condition, a full refund will not be granted. The item may incur a restocking charge or may need to be sold to us as a used item.

At Roberts Camera and UsedPhotoPro we aim to please and we want you to find everything that you are looking for and more. However, there are a few things we need to let you know up front.

  • We reserve the right to limit quantities on any and all items.
  • All illustrations, descriptions and prices are intended to be correct. However, we are human and mistakes may happen. Therefore, all clerical, typographical and printing errors are subject to correction.
  • Prices are subject to change without notice. Prices in our showroom may be higher on some items. Stock status online is not guaranteed to represent actual available stock, from time to time discrepancies may arise.
  • The possession of this on-line electronic document does not necessarily entitle the possessor to the prices shown, nor does this document constitute an offer to sell by Roberts Camera or UsedPhotoPro. The document represents only an invitation by Roberts Camera and UsedPhotoPro to make offers to purchase the products contained within.
  • All orders are placed with us are considered an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to reject such offer at any time during the approval process. All offers to purchase are subject to merchandise availability at the time of acceptance. A confirmation of your order means only that we have received the offer to purchase. If your offer to purchase is rejected for any reason, you will be notified on a timely basis with instructions and an opportunity to respond.
  • When purchasing used equipment there is always a risk of encountering items that were manufactured for international markets. UsedPhotoPro does not check the origin of an item purchased used and manufacturers are not able to work with us in that manner to determine the origin of a used item. We list every item by serial number so that you may have all the same information available to you to make the most informed decision prior to purchase. The origin of a used item does not impact the warranty offered by UsedPhotoPro.

  • Our Return Policies

    Do not complete your manufacturer's warranty cards until you have read this information completely and understand how it will affect your return!

    Roberts Camera and UsedPhotoPro

    At Roberts Camera and UsedPhotoPro we understand that sometimes you might have a change of heart and decide that you need to return your product. Therefore, we are proud to offer a 14-day Hassle Free Return Policy. If you would like to return your purchase within fourteen (14) days of receiving it, please contact our customer service department so that we may assist you and issue you a return authorization. Sending merchandise without authorization may delay your return. Items returned must be in the same condition that they were received and must include all items (including box and accessories) that they shipped with in order to be eligible for a full refund.

    • All returned merchandise purchased from Roberts Camera must be accompanied by a sales receipt and be returned within 14 days of purchase.
    • Items that were purchased in NEW CONDITION must be returned in the same NEW condition that they were received and must include all items (including box and accessories) that they shipped with in order to be eligible for a full refund. If an item is returned that was used or is deemed to no longer be in new condition, a full refund will not be granted. The item may incur a restocking charge or may need to be sold to us as a used item.
    • All used items over $1500.00 are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
    • Roberts and UsedPhotoPro reserve the right to charge a 10%-20% restocking fee for any item being returned to us for any reason other than manufacturer or product defect. This restocking fee will not be applied in most instances, but may be applied at our discretion in the event of frequent and excessive returns or other activity that does not comply with our business practices.
    • No refunds or exchanges on special order merchandise.
    • All merchandise must be returned in its original packaging. If a warranty card was included, it must be returned BLANK and not completed. Once the warranty card is completed, we cannot help you by exchanging your item and any problems will have to be handled as warranty claims with the manufacturer.
    • Merchandise purchased 'As Is' may not be returned for any reason.
    • After 14 days, products in new condition will be subject to manufacturer's warranty and the warranty card included with your product should be consulted for information on getting your product serviced or replaced. Roberts Camera will happily mediate this process for you. If you so desire, see our Repair Policies below for more details.
    • After 14 days, merchandise cannot be returned to Roberts as new stock.
    • After 14 days, functional products may be returned to us as used stock. The value you will be offered for products in this case will be determined by current used market value. To request a quote on the value of your used gear, please click here
    • Sales of all sensitized materials including film, paper, video and audio tape are final. There will be no returns, refunds or exchanges on these items.
    • Drones: No returns on drones unless due to manufacturer defect. If defective, they must return prior to 7 business days of receiving the item. All repairs on DJI drones must go through dji.com.
    • Printers: No returns on printers unless due to manufacturer defect. If defective, they must return prior to 7 business days of receiving the item.
    • If an item is returned to Roberts due to a product defect or a Roberts' error, Roberts will cover the cost of the return shipping. If you are returning your product due to a customer error (i.e. you ordered an item not compatible with your gear) or you decide you do not want the item after all, you will be responsible for the cost of the return shipping to Roberts. This shipping cost will be deducted from your return credit.
    • We are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items shipping to Roberts Camera/UsedPhotoPro. All packages must be shipped prepaid. Roberts/UsedPhotoPro will not accept packages shipped COD. Please be sure to insure any package that you are sending to Roberts/UsedPhotoPro and keep a list of serial numbers for your records.

    Initiate a Return

    If there are any questions or problems with your order, please feel free to contact your salesperson or the following web services departments directly, as we will work to get you completely taken care of:

    • If your product was ordered via robertscamera.com - please contact us at 1-800-726-5544 or [email protected] to process your return
    • If your product was ordered via usedphotopro.com or our eBay store - please contact us at 317-917-7055 or [email protected] to process your return
    • If your product was ordered via Amazon, please initiate a return request from your order in your Amazon account history. Returns may not be initiated outside of Amazon for orders placed via Amazon.com.
    • If you have a product that you need to return due to initial defect or otherwise, please call us at 1-800-726-5544 to obtain a Return Authorization Number (RA#). If an RA# is not obtained, it may delay any credits or replacements requested.

    Holiday Gifts

    We know that during the holiday season, you might be purchasing some gifts that cannot always be properly tested out within our standard 14 day return policy. That is why during the holiday season we offer an extended return policy for your convenience! For any purchase made between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, please indicate in the gift message area that your purchase is a gift. This will qualify you to return any purchase made during the holiday season NO LATER THAN JANUARY 10th. Your item must be in the same condition that is was received and be returned with the receipt as well as the original packaging to receive a full refund. After January 10th, merchandise cannot be returned to Roberts as new stock. All other return policies apply.

Warranties and Repairs

Warranties and Qualified Returns

  • All items purchased from Roberts Camera and UsedPhotoPro (excluding drones) come with a 14 day return period.
    • After the 14 day return window most products will need to be sent to the manufacturer under the terms of their provided warranty for exchange or service.
    • Refurbished items purchased from Roberts Camera come with a 180-day warranty provided by Roberts.
    • Some refurbished items also come with a manufatcurer's warranty. This warranty runs concurrent to the Roberts one. Only one of the warranties may be utilized per product, if you choose to utilize the manufacturer's warranty during its applicable period it will void the remainder of your Roberts warranty.
  • All items purchased from UsedPhotoPro in condition 'Fair' or better* come with a 180 day warranty provided by UsedPhotoPro. *This excludes any used or refurbished computer or tablet products. This warranty is non-transferable.
  • All used autofocus lenses priced $300-$1000 and all used digital camera bodies priced $250-$500 purchased from UsedPhotoPro in condition 'Fair' or better* come with an upgraded 1 year warranty provided by UsedPhotoPro.
    • This warranty may be extended through the purchase of third party warranties. Those warranties will begin concurrently with the provided UsedPhotoPro warranty but will only be valid for service once the duration of the UPP warranty has lapsed. At that time any remaining time on your extended warranty will be valid via the provider contracter.
  • Items on UsedPhotoPro purchased in 'Poor' or 'Inoperable' condition are provided without warranty.
  • Items purchased from UsedPhotoPro in 'Poor' condition still qualify for our 14 day return window.
  • Items purchased from UsedPhotoPro in 'Inoperable' condition are sold as is and we will not accept any returns on these items.
  • Used or refurbished computer or tablet products purchased from UsedPhotoPro in condition good or better have a 90 day warranty.


For the first 14 days do not complete your manufacturer's warranty cards!

During our returns and exchange period, if your product suffers from any initial defects we will gladly help you by exchanging your item for a new one. However, we cannot do that once the warranty cards have been completed and you will have to deal with the manufacturer after that for any issues.

Most of the equipment we sell includes a warranty card specifying the terms of the manufacturer’s warranty. If no card is included with the product, a copy of the warranty may be obtained by writing to the manufacturer. We are happy to provide you with the address and contact information if needed. We of course hope this doesn’t happen, but if you should need warranty service within the first 30 days of your purchase, we will be happy to ship the product back to the manufacturer at our expense, provided that the merchandise was originally purchased from Roberts Camera. After the first 30 days, we charge $20.00 for shipping.

Should you need warranty service within the first 30 days of your purchase AND your item was purchased from Roberts Camera via robertscamera.com, we will be happy to ship the product back to the manufacturer at our expense. After the first 30 days, we will charge a flat $20.00 for shipping cameras or lenses. Large items that must be sent via dimensional weight may incur an additional charge.

Important Note: To obtain warranty service, it is imperative that you provide a copy of the original receipt and warranty card. If you do not provide a receipt, you are responsible for all repair and shipping charges. So, please hang on to your receipts!

Out of Warranty Repairs

If you purchased your item from Roberts Camera or UsedPhotoPro and it should need repair service after your warranty expires, you may still return the product to us for disposition. We will provide you with an estimate of the repair for your approval before any work is done. Some companies charge a fee for the estimate even if no repair work is done. We will notify you in advance if that is the case. You are also responsible for any shipping and insurance charges that may be incurred. Most non-warranty repair work is guaranteed only for the work performed. The length of the guarantee varies from company to company. We will provide details upon receipt of your product. Repair services are available for purchases made on robertscamera.com or usedphotopro.com only.

Terms of Sale

  • The sole warranty on the new product you have purchased from or may purchase from Roberts Camera is the warranty that the manufacturer has provided. If not in the package, the warranty may be obtained by writing to the specific manufacturer. Warranty service returns must be accompanied by a sales receipt and a copy of the warranty card. Any non-warranty service will be assessed charges based on the work performed. An estimate of the charges will be provided for your approval before any work is done. Please see our repairs policy (link to repair policy) for more details.
  • Used merchandise is sold with a 14 day hassle free return privilege. Used equipment must be returned in the same condition it was received and must include all items (including boxes and accessories) for refund consideration. There will a 15% restocking fee on all items over $1500.00. Used merchandise also carries a 180 day warranty for defects in material or workmanship. Used products returned during that period will be repaired, replaced or money refunded at Roberts option. This warranty does not cover alkaline, Ni-MH, Ni-Cd, or Li-ion batteries. If during repair the defect is found to be the result of improper use or abuse, this warranty is null and void. After any repair, that item shall carry a 30 day warranty or the remainder of the original 180 day warranty; whichever is longer. For defective products return or replacement, buyer must contact seller within 14 days of receipt for RMA# (Return #). After 14 days returns will not be accepted.
  • Sales of all sensitized materials including film, paper, video and audio tape are final. There will be no refunds or exchanges on these items.
  • Special order merchandise requires a minimum 50% non-refundable deposit.
  • No new merchandise may be returned for a full refund beyond 14 days from date of purchase. Some items may have a shorter duration for returning. All returned merchandise must be in new condition and have all original packaging, warranty cards and instruction manuals. A sales receipt is required with all returned merchandise. Any returned merchandise that does not meet the above criteria will be subject to a restocking fee, may be returned as a used item or may not be accepted at all.
  • If you purchased an item from Roberts via our eBay or Amazon stores, separate return policies may apply. If you have a question on your eBay or Amazon return, please see the special instructions you received in your package or contact us directly and we can assist you with any questions you may have.
  • Refurbished items are subject to a 90 day manufacturer’s warranty and may have additional warranty requirements.

Disclaimer of Warranty

Except for the previous mentioned warranties, Roberts disclaims and excludes all other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to any and/or all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Liability Limitations

The liability of Roberts, if at all, and buyer's sole and exclusive remedy for damages arising from any claim whatsoever, be it tort or contract, shall not be greater than the purchase price of the product with respect to which such claim is made. Seller shall not be liable in any event for special, incidental, indirect, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind but not limited to reimbursement, compensation, or damages put on account of loss of present or prospective profits or for any other reason whatsoever.

Limitations and Corrections

Sales Tax & Tax Exemptions

A Note Regarding Changing Sales Tax Nexus Laws and Tax Exemption:

Payment

Roberts Camera and UsedPhotoPro accept the following credit cards for purchases with certain qualifications:*
Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover, PayPal, PayPal Credit, and Affirm (effective 10/1/18).

*If you are ordering merchandise via mail order or our online store, you must be the original card holder and the order must be shipped to your credit card billing address within the United States. If you reside outside the U.S., we may require pre-payment or wire transfer through your bank.

While Roberts does not offer any type of in-house financing options, we are happy to offer online financing solutions through Affirm (effective 10/1/18). These services are offered to qualifying customers. Roberts Camera/UsedPhotoPro does not manage these plans or approve applications for these lines of credit. Customers interested in Affirm financing options should see their respective sites for more details on applying and utilizing this credit line for their purchase with Roberts Camera and UsedPhotoPro.

  • Shipping Rules:

    We understand that your shipping options can sometimes be confusing and you may have questions. We hope that this explanation helps to clarify how your item will arrive to you. Above all, we make every effort to save you money and get your product to you quickly and in fantastic condition.

  • Shipping information for products on Roberts Camera and UsedPhotoPro:

    • *Free shipping applies only to the contiguous 48 states. Orders to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international locations do not qualify for our free shipping promotions.
    • Your order of NEW products over $49 will ship free of charge. The free shipping method will come via the standard method of our choice of carrier.
    • Our $49 order total is calculated after all rebates, coupon codes and additional discounts have been applied. Gift cards, freight charges and taxes do not count towards the $49 total.
    • Most USED items in condition ‘GOOD’ or better costing $49 or more will ship free*
    • *Exceptions to this rule – exceptionally large items (ex: large bags, savage paper, etc.) that are dimensionally weighted by our shipping carriers will not qualify for free shipping and will incur shipping charges.
    • *Any upgraded or expedited shipping choice by the customer will incur an additional charge.
    • *Items that are special order or drop-shipped from our manufacturers and vendors may be ineligible for free shipping.
    • *Used items in INOPERABLE, POOR, or FAIR condition are not eligible for free shipping.
    • PO Boxes are NOT eligible for free shipping
    • We are no longer able to ship stand-alone lithium ion batteries outside the contiguous 48 states. For customers in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, and internationally we can only ship lithium ion batteries if they are contained as part of a camera or camera kit. Additional loose batteries may not be shipped to these locations.
    • Packages that are deemed undeliverable or refused by the recipient will be charged a $20 Return to Sender fee. This fee covers the cost of this service provided by the carrier who attempted delivery.

    Due to an increased risk of fraud in the electronics industry, most items ship with signature required on delivery.

  • International shipments with Roberts Camera and UsedPhotoPro

    • Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.

      Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying.

    • We will not declare any package as a "Gift" and we will declare the exact selling price on the customs documents as required by law.

    • If you choose International First Class Mail, this method is not trackable and can take up to 60 days for delivery in some countries.

      For faster delivery times, please select International Priority Mail or International Express Mail.

    • Once your package leaves the USA, the package cannot be tracked until the receiving country's post office scans the package and updates the status.

    • Lithium Ion batteries cannot be shipped internationally with used items. If the package contains a lithium ion battery there is a high probability that it will be rejected by customs and returned to us. If you are purchasing a used camera and shipping it internationally, please note that you will most likely have to purchase a separate battery within your country.

  • A Few Additional Things To Note

    • Shipments to PO boxes can only be shipped via US Postal Service
    • PO Boxes are NOT eligible for free shipping
    • International shipments may incur additional shipping charges. You will be notified via email of those charges and you can chose at that time to accept or decline. Taxes, duties and other fees may be charged by your destination country. Roberts is not responsible for those fees, nor does Roberts have the ability to estimate those fees. You will be charged all shipping and additional fees associated with any item returned because of non-delivery. This includes but is not limited to: Failure to pay said duties and taxes, incorrect address, not available to receive package in timely manner resulting in package being returned to Roberts or Used Photo Pro.
    • Gift cards are sent via electronic delivery only, and an email will be sent with gift card information
    • You will receive an email with your order tracking number once your order has shipped

    At Roberts and UsedPhotoPro, we make every effort to get your order out as soon as possible. However, during periods of high order volume, there will be times when we are unable to get your order out the same day it is placed.

    • Roberts Camera order cut-off times:
      • Monday – Friday: Your order will ship same day if your order is placed by 1:00pm EST
      • Saturday/Sunday: Any order placed after 1pm on Friday will ship on Monday
    • UsedPhotoPro order cut-off times:
      • Monday – Friday: Your order will ship as soon as possible. We strive to get all orders out within two business days from the day the order was placed. All expedited (Overnight and 2nd day Shipping) orders placed before 12:00pm EST are prioritized and we will make every effort to ensure that your order will ship the same day.
      • Orders posted after these cut-offs on Friday will ship by Tuesday the following week (two business days after the order was placed).
      • Our goal is to always get your order out sooner than these estimated times so that we can get your gear to you quickly, however our order processing time may be extended during periods of high volume. We appreciate your patience and understanding!
    • We are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items shipping to Roberts Camera/UsedPhotoPro. All packages must be shipped prepaid. Roberts/UsedPhotoPro will not accept packages shipped COD. Please be sure to insure any package that you are sending to Roberts/UsedPhotoPro and keep a list of serial numbers for your records.
    • ALL ORDERS ARE SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY OUR PROCESSING DEPARTMENT. WE WILL NOTIFY YOU IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME IF YOUR ORDER MAY BE DELAYED.

Rental Policies

For detailed policy information regarding our rental program, please review our Rental Agreement form. This form must be completed prior to renting any equipment from Roberts Camera. All rentals must be picked up and dropped off at our downtown store, located at 220 E. St. Clair Street Indianapolis, IN 46204.

  • SAT 10-4
  • CLOSED SUNDAY
CLOSED MAJOR HOLIDAYS

(extra rental day FREE of charge if the item is due on a major holiday!)

WEEKEND RATE PICKUP TIMES

11-5 FRI or 10-4 SAT (all weekend rate specials MUST be returned Monday by NOON to avoid extra charges).

RENTAL RETURN TIME

Rentals must be returned by 12:00pm on the day the rental is due back to Roberts.

Rental Requirements

Effective immediately, we will require the following for ALL renters:

  • Renter must be 21 years of age or older
  • A copy of a valid, current drivers license or equivalent government-issued ID
  • A valid, active credit card for your account
  • An updated, signed rental agreement

Shipped Rentals

If you would like your rental equipment shipped to you, please call us at 1-800-726-5544 to pay in advance and arrange for your rental to be shipped. There is a ONE WEEK MINIMUM on all mail-order rentals.

Deposits

A DEPOSIT may be required. If you are NEW to rentals you WILL have to pay a deposit.
The deposit will be refunded in full when the rental is returned in the same condition as when it left the store (less any normal banking delays for credit card deposits). Deposits may be left in cash or on credit card(s). If using a credit card, the deposit charge/hold takes about 3-5 business days from the swipe date to release.
Using a debit card for deposits is not recommended at Roberts Camera as it can take several days longer for your deposit to be refunded by your bank.
Roberts Camera is not responsible for and will not reimburse any fees acquired during the charging/holding period. The card and card holder must be present, if the card holder cannot be present, the renter must bring the Permission to Use Credit Card Form.
Certificate of General Liability Insurance: Roberts Camera will also accept a Certificate of Insurance with Roberts Camera listed as a Loss Payee to cover the deposit. If the Customer chooses to secure the Equipment with an insurance policy, the Customer must provide a Certificate of General Liability Insurance naming Roberts Camera as Additional Insured and/or Loss Payee, in a form and amount (not less than $1 million) prior to taking delivery of the Equipment.

Charges, Times, Reservations, and Cancellations

We rent equipment by the day, by the week and by the weekend. The weekly rate is up to three (3) times the daily rate (7 day rental). The weekend rate (Friday pickup/Monday return) is the same as the single day rate. Roberts Camera requests at 24 hours notice for a cancellation. If a reservation is canceled less than 24 hours prior to the reservation date, the customer may still be responsible for at least one full day of rental fees up to the full rental fee. No refunds. While Roberts makes every effort to stock listed rental items and ensure they are returned from previous renters, reservations are not guaranteed. Roberts also makes every effort to contact the renter if a conflict arises.

Late Charges

In the event that the rented equipment is not returned at the required date and time that is indicated in the rental reservation system, the customer understands that they will be assessed and charged late fees for each day that the equipment is not returned to Roberts. If the equipment is overdue by more than one week and the customer has not contacted Roberts Camera to indicate acknowledgement of overdue equipment, a police report will be filed with the Indianapolis Police Department and the equipment will be reported as stolen.

Damage Waiver

The customer is at all times liable for any damage to the rental equipment while in their possession. A damage waiver, in the amount of 15% of the total rental price, may be purchased by the customer. By purchasing this waiver, the customer will only be responsible for 50% of the total repair cost to the damaged equipment. The damage waiver does NOT cover lost or stolen equipment. If a damage waiver is not purchased, and damage does occur, the customer is responsible for the full replacement price of the damaged equipment.

Loss & Theft

The customer is at all times liable for any loss or theft to rental equipment. The customer is liable to Roberts Camera for replacement and accrued rental charges for equipment lost or stolen. If equipment is not returned in the same condition it left Roberts Camera, the customer is responsible for the full replacement price of lost, stolen, or damaged equipment. Please note, purchasing a damage waiver does not cover lost or stolen items.
