Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras are perhaps the most trusted type of camera for high pressure situations when you can’t miss a beat, and you just have to get the shot. They are also packed with useful tricks and features that will allow you to express your creativity nearly any way you can imagine.
DSLRs have two mirrors that deflect light from the sensor – one sends light to the eyepiece for composure and one sends it to the phase detection sensor for accurate and fast focus. Once the shutter button is pressed the mirrors swivel up in order to let light through to the sensor. DSLRs generally focus very quickly, depending on the age/model of the camera and the abilities of the lenses attached to them.
