This is the best bang for your buck camera! Body is solid, and image quality is great for stills and video. Great upgrade from my D200.

I upgraded from my D200 and I am grateful for it. The build quality is solid, but the image quality for both stills and videos is what will make you smile. I mainly use the Nikon 17-55mm 2.8 lens with the D7000 and the results are superb. For the money, there is nothing better until you have to shell out the big bucks to go FX. So this is the camera to go to if you want quality and value.

I bought this as a backup camera for weddings and to play with the HD video. It turns out stunning images. I shoot in "m" mode and in raw so I can't attest for the program shooting, but the files out of camera can easily be converted to jpegs with no adjusting. The only negative I found is that the program dial can be bumped. from your setting to another. I wish it had a lock like the release mode dial. I think this may only be a problem if you shoot with two cameras at your sides as the mode wheel will rub against your leg. Overall I'm very impressed with the D7000

This camera can do it all: low light, fast action, portraits, landscapes...From full Auto to full Manual it can take stunning photos. If you're moving up, the D7000 will inspire and help you to be better. Do yourself two favors: be a student of all it can do and buy lenses worthy of this phenomenal camera.
