This class is an introduction to your camera’s basic operating controls, menus, features and operation. You will also be given tips and recommendations to make your camera experience more enjoyable. Purchasers with little or no SLR or DSLR experience will get the most from this class. Photography & software are not covered in this session.

Roberts first Basic Photography Class. This program is for anyone who wants to improve their pictures and have a better understanding of Shutter Speeds/F-stops, how they portray motion and affect the area of sharpness in your images. Also discussed will be their impact along with ISO choices on exposure and the ability to take pictures in a variety of lighting situations. Find out why your pictures in the High School gym or other low light venues don't always come out as expected.

This class will help you learn about the different types of lenses & what kinds of images they can help you take. We’ll cover the lens info you need to know to determine which lens will work best for you and discuss the mysterious crop/image factor & their advantage. Whether you take pictures of sporting events, outside activities, landscapes, or close-ups of small objects, we’ll point you in the right direction & cover what is available.

This is the class for parents, grandparents and anyone else who wants to photograph children doing activities at school or other areas & times in low light conditions. We will cover techniques and settings needed on your cameras to take these photos without flash. There will also be time to practice what you have learned during the class. You will need to know the basic operation of your camera & be able to adjust camera settings & make menu changes! Specifically you need to be able to change exposure modes, adjust f-stops, shutter speeds, ISO, AF settings & advance modes. This is a small class limited to 15 people per session.

A non-technical photo class for those interested in improving the quality & type of pictures they take without having to learn the science of photography. Some of the areas covered will be; techniques for improving image sharpness, checking & adjusting exposure using plus/minus control, polarizing filters for enhanced color w/reduced glare, compositional ideas and putting images together to tell a story. This class will be especially helpful for those taking general family, event & vacation pictures. It is recommended that you have a compact digital camera that allows some overrides of settings or a DSLR camera.

This is a Free Class for customers who purchased their compact digital cameras from Roberts ($25 if bought somewhere else). You will need to know the basic operation of your camera & be able to adjust camera settings & make menu changes! This is not a camera operation class! The class is neither brand nor model specific. You will be shown how to prepare your camera & have it ready to take pictures. Compositional tips, digital zoom, exposure compensation, flash & image sharpness will be discussed. The tips and suggestions given will help make your camera experience more enjoyable & improve the quality of your pictures. People new to digital cameras & photography will get the most from this class. Bring your camera w/charged battery, memory card & instruction book.
