“Didn't know what I was missing”

Outstanding for sports and wildlife. Tack sharp even at 200. A bit on the heavy side, mono or tripod a requirement for some shots. Pricy but worth it.

“Great Lens... Worth every $$$”

Wow. This thing is big, heavy, and expensive. But it is worth it. Pictures are great. I had a 80-200 f/2.8 af-d 2 ring, and this is a huge step up with my D700. VRII is great. ISO 6400, F2.8, and 1/30sec with razor sharp pics is out of this world.
To sum it up.... the price sucks, but it is worth it.
Dont get somthing else thinking it will be good enough.....
I did w/ the 80-200, and I ended up buying this anyway.
